Our efforts with this project dealt with the design of the parking structure at grade which also houses the Main Electrical & Switchgear Rooms, Arts & Crafts Storage, Elevator Machine Room, and the much needed Boys, Girls and Faculty Restrooms. The most difficult tasks with this project dealt with the integration of the existing 2-story Administration/Classroom building with the new addition, as well as placement of the building on a severely limited site. Due to such a disparity in elevations between the existing and the new, a connecting stair and elevator tower had to unite 5 different levels. This miss-alignment between the finish floor elevations of the existing structure and those of the new addition was a direct by-product of the very complex site.
